Successful BIM World MUNICH 2023: Digital innovations for a sustainable future

With participants from more than 68 countries, BIM World MUNICH confirms its leading role as the
international trendsetting event for the construction, real estate and facility management industry.

Munich, December 05, 2023 – BIM World MUNICH took place for the 7th time on November 28 and 29,
2023 and was once again an outstanding success. With more than 7,800 visitors, over 200 exhibitors
and over 250 international expert presentations, BIM World MUNICH is a trendsetter and an
indispensable event for the construction, real estate and facility management industry.
Under the guiding theme of BIM4NetZero, the event focused on resource-saving construction and
operation as well as sustainable building material cycles. The focus on BIM4FM with the central theme
of “sustainable and efficient operation” was very well received by experts.

“We are particularly pleased with the extremely positive response from exhibitors. BIM World MUNICH
2023 not only exceeded our expectations, but also underlined the dynamism and potential of BIM in
the construction industry. We are proud that the event is making such a significant contribution to the
discussion on sustainable construction and the promotion of digital innovation,” confirms Christian
Stammel, founder and Managing Director of BIM World MUNICH.

BIM4NetZero builds a bridge between digital solutions and ecological responsibility. BIM World
MUNICH provided an inspiring platform for shaping the future of construction and operation in a
sustainable way. In cooperation with CAFM Ring e.V. and gefma, BIM World MUNICH presented the
operational aspects in particular at the BIM4FM Congress. Together with the BIM Building Automation
and Electrical Engineering Working Group of the VDMA, BIM World MUNICH organized the integrated
expert panel BIM4TGA, which showed the benefits of BIM in building technology from planning to
operation.

The BIM4Materials Congress together with the 4builders. platform focused on reducing the carbon
footprint of building materials through standardized digital processes and data storage.
The official partner country of the event, Austria, also impressed with various practical presentations
and gave the audience a glimpse into the future of the digital construction industry.

The BIM Town Innovation Area was once again the innovation hotspot this year. Not only the BIM Town
start-ups presented their revolutionary products and services on their own stage. The 40 finalists of the 6th Smart Building Smart Construction Innovation World Cup® also battled it out in short pitches to reach the grand finale of the international competition. A high-caliber jury evaluated the start-ups live on site and selected Sodex Innovations from Austria as the winner. Minimass from the UK and ecoworks from Germany took 2nd and 3rd place.

The numerous innovations and discussions made it clear that digital solutions, especially in the context of BIM, can make a decisive contribution to creating sustainable and efficient construction processes. Dietmar Bernert, President of BIM World MUNICH, also summarized: “BIM World MUNICH is the annual highlight of the industry and a fantastic platform for presenting products and services to a highly qualified audience. The quality of the discussions and the interest of the visitors were impressive. The intensive exchange between all attendees showed that interest in digital construction and planning solutions continues to grow strongly. We would like to thank all exhibitors, experts and visitors for their participation and their contribution to a successful event.” Dietmar Bernert, President of BIM World MUNICH.

The 8th BIM World MUNICH will take place on November 26 and 27, 2024 at the ICM in Munich.
