Munich 26–27 Nov 2024

Press Release: BIM World MUNICH is postponed to 2021, new digital format BIM Virtual from 24 – 25 November 2020

Munich, 10– 26 -2020, BIM World MUNICH has to be postponed to November 2021 due to the current developments. As Munich has exceeded the incidence value of 100, a ban on events with more than 50 participants will apply. A new digital format, the BIM Virtual, will take place this year. The BIM Virtual, enables the important exchange and transfer of expert knowledge within the construction industry. On November 24 and 25, 2020, the latest topics concerning the digitalization of the construction and building industry will be presented in keynotes, lectures, panel discussions and webinars. Exhibitors will introduce themselves in a virtual exhibition area and can interact with visitors through live chats and video calls.

Strongly rising numbers of infections, highly volatile conditions, local lockdowns of the policy and in particular the new Covid-19 regulation of the Bavarian state government, which permits starting from an incidence value of 100 and thus from today on only meetings of up to 50 persons, forces the BIM World MUNICH to shift the actual live event to 23 – 24 November 2021 and take place in the year 2020 purely virtually.

“As a key platform for the industry, BIM World will ensure with its new digital format „BIM Virtual“ that the urgently needed exchange will continue to take place in 2020. It is now extremely important, especially for many small and medium-sized companies, that things continue, that they can implement their digital planning strategies, that they generate business contacts, that they learn and start new projects together! We will offer the exhibitors and visitors at BIM World who are all behind us and have placed their trust in us, a reliable platform for their business,” says Christian Stammel, founder and managing director of BIM World MUNICH.

The focus of BIM Virtual is on the exchange between participants, exhibitors and experts – with a significantly expanded international target group. Around 100 exhibitors, numerous start-ups and more than 100 presentations make the BIM Virtual a highlight in 2020. Up to three parallel live streams and live panel discussions will take place on the two days. All lectures will be made available “on-demand” and can be accessed directly after the online event. Contact with the exhibitors and partners of BIM Virtual will be established via a user-friendly, professional 360° business matchmaking tool.

“With the BIM Virtual, we are offering our exhibitors and visitors the opportunity to meet despite the current Covid-19 restrictions and to exchange views on the entire portfolio of solutions related to the digitalization of the construction industry.” confirms Dietmar Bernert, President of BIM World MUNICH and spokesperson for the expert group. “The BIM Virtual will focus on exchange and networking, even beyond the period of the actual BIM World, with a clear focus on creating valuable business contacts”.
