Under strict hygiene regulations, the 5th BIM World MUNICH from November 23 to 24, 2021, finally enabled the much-needed personal exchange of all industry stakeholders once again and asserted itself as the most important international meeting place for the digitization of the construction and real estate industry. With a consistently positive atmosphere, the focus was on direct contact with customers, interested parties and professional colleagues from the 189 exhibitors and over 150 speakers.

Building Information Modeling is developing into the central data exchange of all trades involved in construction and is thus becoming more important than ever. The influence of BIM processes and data models extends far beyond the actual planning area. BIM World MUNICH demonstrated this impressively with the topics BIM4Machines, BIM4Construction, BIM4Materials and BIM4RealEstate and the cross-sectional topics BIM4Netzero and BIM4Sustainability.
In the numerous presentations and discussion panels of the key players in the industry and innovative start-ups from the various disciplines, all experts confirmed: The digital twin of buildings and infrastructure must be in focus – based on structured, reliable, and dynamic data. “Enriched ” with IoT technologies and solutions, these digital twins will become the key elements of digital strategies of companies, large real estate operators, municipalities, and cities.
The new field of opportunities and innovations was demonstrated by the participants of BIM Town and the 4th Smart Building / Smart Construction Innovation World Cup®. The top 12 finalists pitched their innovative solutions in front of the impressed audience on the main stage. The top-class jury evaluated the start-ups live on site and chose Treble Technologies as the winner. The Icelandic start-up develops a highly specialized software for sound simulation already in the planning phase of buildings and is now officially the global TOP Smart Building Innovator 2021.
