Preparations are in full swing. In just over a week, BIM World MUNICH, the leading platform for the digitalization of the construction and real estate industry, will open its doors for the 9th time. The ICM – International Congress Center Messe München is once again completely booked out this year and expects approximately 8,000 trade visitors, 250 exhibitors, and around 200 speakers.
As usual, there will be an extensive congress program on four stages with numerous presentations, panels, and discussion rounds by international speakers from architecture, research, industry, and politics. The content will be dominated by two topics currently occupying the industry: sustainability and artificial intelligence. The focus is primarily on how digital methods can be used for resource conservation, efficiency gains, and circular economy, and what potential AI offers for the planning, construction, and operation of buildings.
This is reflected in numerous presentations, for example, in a presentation on the connection between design and conscious, sustainable creation, given by Karola Gröger, Partner Munich office at Matteo Thun. Another contribution highlights the future of the AECO industry driven by artificial intelligence and the resulting strengthening of the industry, presented by Fabian Riether from the Nemetschek AI Team.
The expert panel BIM4Circular, which addresses the opportunities of a consistent circular economy in construction, also ties in here. The circle of experts will discuss the exciting question of whether materials are the new champion of the ecological balance and will certainly have controversial opinions on the matter.
However, the program is not limited to these areas but covers a variety of other aspects of digitalization in the construction, real estate, and facility management industries. Experts will present highlight projects and best practices. For example, Würth addresses modular construction and Lean Management with BIM, while Az Jasat, Director, Industrialized Construction at Autodesk, will speak about industrialized construction, the fusion of AEC and manufacturing, and the necessary change in mindsets.
One of the four stages, the CAFMWORLD Congress Stage, focuses on digital Facility Management and operations, this year with a special focus on BOS (Building Operation Systems). The expert panel BIM4RealEstate from immobilienmanager is also scheduled here, which will discuss the question: Predictive Maintenance through networked data – wish or reality? – with the participating companies such as Apleona, Phoenix Contact, Turner & Townsend, and ECE Marketplaces.
Another stage is dedicated to special partner events: On November 26, the closed “Bayern baut digital” (Bavaria builds digitally) day of the Bavarian State Ministry for Housing, Building and Transport will take place there, followed by a public event of the German Association for Security Technology (VfS) on November 27, whose core themes are resilient infrastructure and the new KRITIS umbrella law.
In addition to the thematically curated congress program, the Breakout Sessions – open forums in the exhibition area – offer visitors practical insights into specific products, tools, and solutions from the exhibitors. They demonstrate how digital technologies can already be used in the construction and real estate sector today.
Highlights here include the opening of the Breakout Sessions by Prof. Stefan Krötsch (HTWG) with the presentation “Pre-fabrication – serial or individual?” and the contribution “Stop Demolishing!” by Philipp Robert, CEO of pr-architekten. Another program item on the CAFMWORLD Breakout Stage is the BIM4FM Panel, which deals with Smart Buildings, AI, and Building Operation Systems in Facility Management. The award ceremony of the “BIM Preis Bayern” will also take place as part of the Breakout Sessions on November 26 at 5:05 PM.
With this versatile supporting program, BIM World MUNICH 2025 once again confirms its claim to be the leading platform for knowledge transfer, innovation, and networking, picking up on the central trends of the industry and illuminating them in a practical manner.
The 9th BIM World MUNICH will take place from November 26 to 27, 2025, at the ICM – International Congress Center Munich.
