MORE SAFETY, SUSTAINABILITY AND EFFICIENCY

According to a survey conducted by ABB among 1900 international construction companies, over 80% will use robots in the next 10 years in construction. Already today, more than 55% are already using such systems to counteract the shortage of skilled workers. Robotics will change the activities of employees involved in and make them safer, as they can be used particularly in the case of dangerous and physically difficult work. The use of robotic systems also ensures clear documentation of the measures carried out. So-called BIM ROS interfaces connect the “Robotic-operation system” and the BIM databases directly with each other. In addition, the interfaces for machine communication are currently being standardized under the leadership of the VDMA with the Machines in Construction MiC 4.0 working group, thus also ensuring data interoperability among and from the machines.
