Keynote: CAD & BIM Integrated Solution: Empowering Energy-Efficient Design Workflows

Sustainability starts with precision and efficiency. By integrating CAD and BIM workflows, designers can minimize rework, demonstrate and reasonably optimize that the building materials (critical factors in reducing carbon emissions in the AEC industry) meet the design expectations. This presentation would briefly share the development of BIM technology and its advantages in sustainable development as well as carbon reduction. Based on a case study, the presentation would also discuss the development of interoperable digital solutions to support both the green and digital transitions within the construction industry, demonstrate using IFC as the central data format—mapping CAM (Criteri Ambientali Minimi) data into a bsDD structure, and validating the information via IDS standards to support a fully open BIM workflow.
