A Connected Future for the Energy Transition – NordOstLink in Digital Development
Description
As part of the politically mandated transition to a greenhouse gas-neutral energy supply, TenneT is carrying out extensive expansion of renewable energy generation in Schleswig-Holstein. This expansion creates a bottleneck in transmitting the generated electricity to consumer regions. Based on this fact, the overarching goal of the NordOstLink (NOL) project is to increase the transmission capacity from Schleswig-Holstein to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and further—through connections with other transmission capacities—to southern Germany.
The energy transition can only succeed if we approach the entire lifecycle of infrastructure — planning, construction, and operation — in a digital and interconnected way by using BIM-Method.
