| Thomas has been active in the digitalisation of design and construction with a focus on BIM since the 1990s. As founder and director of AEC3, he advises public authorities, owners, operators, contractors and planners on the digitisation of their business processes. A key focus of his work is standardisation. He led the development of IFC for over 20 years and is widely regarded as the “father of IFC”. In 2024, he received Germany’s highest award in computer science, the Konrad Zuse Medal. |
