Description

For complex asset owners, BIM does not end at project handover. The real challenge is to turn project information into reliable, connected and continuously usable operational data. This presentation shows how Vienna Airport is moving from project-based BIM towards a lifecycle-oriented information ecosystem in which digital models act as an integration layer between GIS, SAP/ERP, facility management, documentation, product data and other operational systems. The focus is on practical implementation: openBIM-based information requirements, model validation, as-built documentation, BIM2SAP workflows, Scan-to-BIM and the development of a central Building Operation System. The presentation also highlights the governance and data-quality principles required to keep information trustworthy over time. The key message: BIM creates lasting value when open standards, structured data and operational processes are connected across the full asset lifecycle.
