Thorsten Strassel

Dr. Thorsten Strassel is Product Owner for Emerging DC Applications in ABB’s Electrification Smart Power Division, where he is also responsible as Global Product Manager for solid-state circuit breakers (SSCB). Since September 2025, Dr. Strassel also represents ABB in the board of the Open Direct Current Alliance (ODCA). This non-profit organization comprises around 100 industrial and academic global members with the goal to facilitate and harmonize the direct current ecosystem.
