PRESS RELEASE BIM Town

Since its premiere in the fall of 2016, BIM World MUNICH has become the most visited network platform in DACH for digitizing the construction and real estate industry. The 120 exhibitor sites for 2018 with innovative BIM solutions, IT applications and new IoT technologies are already fully booked. Over 100 speakers from all over Europe are set for the 2-day international conference. And more than 4,000 participants are expected on 27 and 28 November 2018 in the IC Munich. Now the ticket sales started.

“Building Information Modeling represents the digitization and process optimization of the entire construction and real estate industry” Josef Kauer, President of BIM World MUNICH. “BIM and digital building models are the driving force behind innovation and performance in the construction industry, building operations, urban planning and regional development. The BIM World MUNICH brings together the entire BIM ecosystem, making it the most important BIM network platform in the German-speaking market. ”

Probably the greatest benefit BIM achieves as a digital building model and work method, when the parties communicate with each other on the basis of uniform data: through the different life phases of a property with its technical facilities, and without media disruption. The decisive prerequisite for this is that the responsible persons come to an inter-trade exchange of experience and know the latest state of technological developments. This is the biggest challenge. And that is precisely what the BIM World MUNICH aims for: With its focus on digital planning, construction and operation, it spans the thematic spectrum across phases and addresses all relevant target groups.

Thus, the 2-day international conference addresses four topics: BIM CAPTURING; BIM COLLABORATION; BIM VISUALIZATION and BIM BEST PRACTICE. 100 speakers from all over Europe will share their experiences. The 30 breakout sessions also show the latest examples of applications and solutions for architects and engineers; to BIM DATA & Collaboration; for digital building and real estate management for owners and operators; on building products Digital; to BIM Infrastructure or to BIM City and BIM & Law. The 120 exhibitors show what the technology offers: From augmented reality with new data glasses, drones and new IT for planning and operation to application examples from IoT, Robotic and AI. New in 2018: The BIM Town! – a BIM World Innovation Community.

“The BIM Town! is an extension of the previous BIM network platform, “explains Franziska Wegele, responsible Project Manager at BIM World MUNICH. At present, a gratifying number of smart applications would create digital support for individual processes in the construction and real estate industries. But where the development of the relevant CDI’s, the Common Data Environment go, that is still quite unclear. “We also want to show how far this development is, and in 2018 will open the window to the future labs of a selection of players from the founding European scene in this important environment.”

Already at the premiere of BIM World MUNICH in autumn 2016, the unexpectedly large crowd of more than 2,000 participants caused a surprise. A year later, their number increased to over 3,000. In 2018, the organizer, Navispace AG, expects more than 4,000 participants at the ICM Munich on 27 and 28 November. Among the partners of BIM World MUNICH are u.a. AUTODESK, Bentley, bimobject, BIM (systems), buildingSMART, engie, NEMETSCHEK GROUP and Trimble.
